Privacy Policy

Effective 8 October 2026

ExamsOrbit (“we”, “us”) runs examsorbit.com, an exam-preparation and analytics platform for JEE and CAT aspirants. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data (Sign in with Google). When you sign in, Google and Firebase Authentication share your name, email address, profile photo and a unique account ID with us. We never see your Google password.
  • Guest mode. If you use the CAT section without signing in, we create a random guest ID and a signed token that is stored in your browser’s local storage. Your progress is saved on our servers under that ID. If you later sign in with Google, the guest progress moves into your account.
  • Learning data. Your answers and attempts, time spent, mock tests and results, bookmarks, Mistake Book entries and notes, study logs, study-planner settings, preferences, and any details you enter in tools such as the IIM call predictor (for example academic scores or work experience).
  • AI Tutor and AI Search. The messages you send, together with the question you are working on, are sent to Google’s Gemini API to generate a reply. We do not store the content of your conversations; we keep only a daily count of messages to apply usage limits.
  • Usage analytics. Page views, session length, clicks, filters used, referrer and whether you are on a mobile device, linked to a random session ID. We also use Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which may set cookies or collect device and browser information.
  • Feedback. Anything you submit through the feedback form, including an email address if you choose to give one.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and request logs to deliver the site; we use IP addresses briefly in memory for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

2. How we use it

  • To provide the service: save your progress, run mock tests, and show your performance, weak areas and Mistake Book.
  • To compute analytics about your preparation (accuracy, speed, trends) — these are estimates, not guarantees.
  • To answer your AI Tutor questions and keep AI usage within fair limits.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

3. Service providers

We use these providers to run ExamsOrbit; they process data on our behalf under their own security terms:

  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • MongoDB Atlas — database for your account and learning data.
  • Google Firebase Authentication — Google sign-in.
  • Google Gemini API — AI Tutor and AI Search replies.
  • Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics — usage analytics.

Your data may be processed on servers outside your country.

4. Your choices and rights

  • In the CAT section, go to Settings → Data & Privacy to export your data or clear it.
  • You can sign out at any time; guest data stays tied to the token in your browser until you clear it.
  • To access, correct or delete your data, or to withdraw consent, email us at kartikdwivedi999@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
  • You can block or delete analytics cookies in your browser settings.

5. Retention

We keep your account and learning data while your account is active, and delete it when you ask us to or clear it from Settings. Aggregated usage statistics that cannot identify you may be kept longer.

6. Children

ExamsOrbit is meant for exam aspirants. If you are under 18, please use it with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us data without that consent, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

Data is sent over HTTPS, access to our database is restricted, and secrets are never shipped to your browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of any breach as required by law.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, show a notice on the site.
